Sticky

Sticky fingers. Ahhhhhhh!
Another one for ABB; "The thing(s) that scare you most". While I'm not scared of this, I don't really like getting gunky. I need to psyche myself up before I dive into ribs and the like :| .

(yes yes, I know his arm is hella long - that's what happens when you draw without thinking)

Zombie Hatter Guy

Still trying to get comfortable with Painter. Having a bit more fun now though.
WIPy stuff. The one on the left was originally blue line, and much MUCH lighter. Had to fiddle to make it visible at all. I don't like doing a second pass on a new sheet; animation or not, so I go over top, then strip out the blue with Photoshop. Nifty stuff. And stroke is awesome.

I noticed I treat drawing differently between animation and illustration. I really should start approaching these as I would a key.

Orange

I missed a bit on the expression I was going for, I'll try again later. Ah, Charmander. I started with Yellow, so I got all the starters. Perhaps I'll draw some more 'mons later.

New Colours, Old Lines

Colouring an old warmup sketch. Otherwise my hand doesn't listen to me later.
Eh, may as well use it as my new icon while I'm at it. 2 for 1 special.

Karaoke Mace

I imagine it would be hard for anyone to get Batman to have fun. Hawkman would try, nonetheless.

More Teachers

If anyone has any tips for colouring, lay 'em on me.

Dogs

I like the way this one turned out.
Another page of google ref.
Trying out Painter. I love the way it blends, but there's a lot of stuff to learn and try. I seem to be having difficulty picking colours of the intensity I want. Much practice is needed. Much.

Teachers

May as well name drop these guys. Mark Pudleiner, Charles Phillips, and Wayne Gilbert of Vanarts. I finally managed to get Mark to look recognizable. Wayne's still pretty off though.

Kick a Kid

Playing around with colour.

Not the Mama

Lazy with plaid.

Some quickies from google reference.
The one Baby centered on the rough page creeps me out.

Dinosaurs. I still have some episodes of this on vhs. Good show and STILL better than The Simpsons. Also a look at how different the atmosphere was not too long ago. Case-in-point, Earl kills them all off in the last episode. Yep, they all die. Oops.

Warm ups X

I think it's neat when I can show a page straight out, without editing.
In this case though, you might have to just, turn your head... a little.

Avatar-Rolling Start!

It's a slow start... But I'll pick up speed.
For the new group blog – Art Block Buster. "Bust your art block and stay active!"; that's the hope anyway.

Warm ups VII

•The two handsome guys in the bottom left were done with inspiration from Steve's style.

Warm ups VI

A slightly longer warmup post today. Also, just an unrelated note to toss your way - things like tongues, popsicles and corndogs are intrinsically "clean". If distortions have arisen, the cause is you~.
As I mentioned during a former post, most of my warm-up body sketches are partials and so are boring to look at, and won't normally be posted. But y'know. I like this one.

Anti Tuesday Cheer Up Picture - Hawkman

Oh Hawkman, you've lived so long. Why not drop the serious and just have fun?
It ended up being a single drawing without thumbnail or revision. I also tried using a sharpie to ink.

Warm ups V

The vast majority of my warmup sketches are partials for the side-purpose of analyzing styles or forms - it helps to draw them isolated from the whole. I won't be posting any of those however, for one of two reasons. A) They aren't fun to look at, and B) many are done from drawings in others' styles, so posting is a nono.
